Hi, This is my first time on the forum. I was wondering what's a good clip-on tuner that works well with harp guitars.  I have an intellitouch, which works fine for a 6 string guitar, and is pretty good for the high harp strings, but isn't good for the bass strings. I was thinking of looking at clip-on bass tuners, but wasn't sure if they would also do well with the non-bass strings.  Also, I didn't want to reinvent the wheel if a good clip-on tuner was already known to work well with harp guitars.
Thanks for your help,
Rick

Rick - I've never had any problem with this one on all of my instruments:

They also have a new AW2 that is probably even a better choice.
Covers the full spectrum, but not as well on high nylon string harp notes as my trusty old Boss TU-12H which I keep a "Matrix Universal Tuner Pick-Up" clip-on sensor plugged into.
Wow, I just remembered - I used this tuner for the entire 4-5-year Christmas Collection project on all 100 instruments. I had a board signal feeding it realtime for the entire recording process - some of those funky old instruments (18 friction tuners on a Harwood, anyone?!) would go out of tune halfway through a take.  I'd literally reference it and re-tune between phrases and punch-ins on the fly.  But I digress.
Good luck!

Thanks guys.  It seems Korg now makes an AW-2G that has a special clip for guitars and also is back lit.  I just ordered one through the internet.  I'll let you know how it turns out.  Thanks for your help.

I recently picked up a Crafter TG-200H.  on my guitars i've tuned down to drop C and various open tunings with no problems.  others tried it on upright basses with no problems as well.  My intellitouch often won't read either E string on the guitar so i'm fairly pleased with this tuner.  Mine does have some sort of problem with its projection of the letter for each string, but it's the only one i've seen do this.

I just wanted to give you guys an update.  I've been using the Korg AW-2G and it's been working great!  It senses the bass harp strings very nicely. Thanks a lot for the help.

Rick I just got the Korg AW-2G and it works well for all but the low bass F.
I like it otherwise.

Hi Mike,
I've been using this tuner for a while now, and have been very happy with it.  I've found that it's been OK for my low F bass string.  Maybe it might be where you're positioning the tuner on the headstock. I don't usually put it on the Bass headstock, but that might help with the tuning of the low F string.

I snagged the new Intellitouch PT10 tuner at Winfield this year. Smaller, with a square screen that turns from red to green when you're on pitch. So far, it works great on both my HG's. With it clipped to the neck headstock, I can tune the sub basses just fine without having to move the tuner to a new location.. It picks up and holds notes MUCH faster and better than the original Intellitouch tuners I have.

Thanks to your post, Dennis, I also ordered the Intellitouch PT10. It wasn't available yet in the Netherlands, so I got from a musicstore in the UK. Within a few days it arrived at my door, and I must say... I am quite happy with it!

It indeed looks like I can tune all the 10 sub-basses with the tuner attached to the guitar headstock.

Can't wait to test it on dark and noisy stages...
