Both Dyer pages within the Knutsen Archives have been extensively re-written, with new updates even since Bob Hartman's latest book was published (the most exciting of which is the discovery of "Style 3")!The Knutsen-Dyer Connection The Dyer Harp Mandolin Family A big thanks to Bob for proofing and ideas and to both both Bob and Ron at Centerstream for allowing images and information immediately after the book's release. I fully expect everyone reading these articles to own the new edition already - don't disappoint me! The Archives yearly update is also complete.

OK, some of you have had glimpses of this at the last 2 Gatherings.... The major Dyer update is finally online. This is complete rewrite, of many tens of thousands of words, a couple years in the making. A ton of new material, and even more analysis, in 4 main sections, including a special Members-Access-Only page for serious Dyer scholars (ask me for the new 2010 password). Extra-serious Dyer scholars and owners may want to wade through the new Dyer Dating article, which presents all my findings and theories - and I mean all . Including the exercises that led me to the various scenarios (these exercises being useful provenance wherever they lead). Note that I have not myself chosen a serial number sequence. No one yet can, and Bob Hartman agrees - though we are both leaning towards one of the new, earlier timelines. I have no idea what Bob and John Thomas are going to say in the next Larson book - that'll be their problem!

Amazing! You really outdid yourself.
This should take me a while.

I added 4 new entries to the Dyer BMG page , including reference to the tuning(s) for the first time. These were found via our new semi-searchable PDFs, painstakingly assembled by a colleague. I wonder what else we still haven't found... Update list is at page bottom.
