Me? Try and stump The Pope? I'd have a better chance of getting on Robin Trower's next CD, and I even have connections!

i wasn't sure michael.  not able to see the full length of the neck, it looks thick enough to be a mandocello, but it could very well be a mandola.  either way, i'd love to have it.  I play with a guy who plays saw; i've found it doesn't matter what kind of saw it is, they all sound weird.

Well, it has to be a musical saw.

I think that's just a plain ol' mandolin from the size of it... Mandocello would be much larger. Plenty of Gibby A ovals around.

What I want to know is where's the Hawaiian Guitar?

haha, i believe you may be right now.  the longer i look at that picture, the smaller the mandolin gets.  i spied a sweet L-OO hawaiian in Gruhn's guitar shop when i was in nashville.  They only wanted an arm and part of a leg for it too.

haha, funny you post the link the the style U.  the idiot posted it a little over a week ago and couldn't get a 1,999 dollar bid on it as that was his starting bid.  so what does he do?  posts it with a 2999 dollar buy it now.

sorry if that's anyone here, but that makes little to no sense to me at all.

It's not, and doesn't, Hunter.  HG.net readers all know better by now, I think.  Frankly, Karl's ("cookie") Gibson is the first one I've seen in ages that's actually worth the asking price.  That's my last free advice (HGM has to show a profit someday).

hahaha yeah.... mine was actually probably higher than it should've been given its neck problem but it was the only one i could find in my range.  In the short time I've been collecting instruments (about 10 years) it seems like all the prices have gotten outrageous.  i mostly blame ebay.

But it doesn't say "Pro" 20 String Harp Guitar, how could it possibly be worth so much?

Yes, it's been in Gallery 3b for some time.  Owned by my friend Eddie Montana.  Homemade, and odd (even for me!).

Dang Gregg...That's twice in a row my research floundered! It never occured to me to check that gallery. As I said before a hg 12 on the neck is my dream instrument but I've got other plans for that. Cool Guitar though.

In this case, I'll be able to trump you and Gregg..! When I was visiting L.A. about three years ago, I walked into Seal Beach Music, took pictures of that HG and showed them to Gregg when I visited his place! That's how he found out about it.
