If anyone has questions about using any of the new (and much improved!) features of the new Forum, use this thread.
Most of it is common sense, using the simple icons at the top of your "reply" window (hover over to see what they are). Full text formatting, tons of (cringe) emoticons, quotes (copy and paste text from any previous messages and use this to bracket it), the link feature (use this to add your links), etc.

For those of you who, like me, refer back to information on the Forum, I have backed up the entire old Forum and organized it in an Excel spreadsheet. Any current subscribers may request this at any time. One can use the "find" feature to search for names or keywords - it's tedious, but it's all there.

If you haven't already, please re-register by following these simple steps:

Hey, I'm here!
Glad to hear about the old forum being saved at least in some form; that was my first question.

It looks pretty straightforward and sensible...

Thanks Gregg!!

Thanks Mr Miner for fixing the site. I check it about 10 times a day. I am a Harp guitar junkie!

Thank's a lot for your incredible work Gregg. What should be my life without harpguitars.net? I can't imagine...

My passion for harp guitar is growing very strong and new music and new songs are coming out of me.

Amitiés

Philippe

Gregg, Thanks. Your latest effort on our behalf has allowed me to read every single item on the harp guitar forum. It was a long term goal of mine.

Reminds me of a catch phrase one of my mentors used to use, "If I wasn't behind, I wouldn't have the chance to catch up!"

Maybe I can get up an avatar soon.

Wish you luck on the new server.

Yippeeee!

Gregg, a couple of questions and a request. Is the old forum available in its entirety on the HG.net CD? Also, how to go about accessing the Excel spreadsheet with the old forum? I'm asking this publicly because I would guess that I might not be the only member with these questions. Regarding the request, I have to admit that I lost my file with the members only password. Could you send that along to me? Thanks again.

No Esau. The old Forum was never a part of the self-contained site on my drive, nor is the new one.  Assuming the new host server doesn't have a problem and stays in business, it'll all be here online.  For anything important for reference I would suggest you copy and paste to your own drive.
The Excel spreadsheet is complicated but complete.  I'll send it to you (and any subscribers) and you can search for keywords to find any old posts with useful information

Dennis Mitchell had an interesting problem with the Forum recently - the "reply" to messages button/link was gone (blank).  He uses Firefox (as do I) - and as soon as he allowed/activated the latest Firefox Updates, the problem cleared.

Quick correction. It was the reply tool bar that went missing. Sorry for the miscommunication Gregg!
