Two recent new members include Brian Gan from Malaysia and Verlene Schermer from San Jose, Ca.  Both are anxiously waiting and/or searching for their first harp guitars.
Much appreciation and thanks to you both!

Thanks to Michael Belotto of New York, for a new supporting donation. Michael is interested in coming to the Gathering and anxious to try out various harp guitars (perhaps nylon string) and obtain an instrument.
Thanks, and hope to see you there!

Sorry - a bit behind, getting the HGG8 pages up.
My old Knutsen-loving friend John Bushouse has made a Patron Donation - thanks!  He's moving to Arizona, and hopes to build something at Will Eaton's school.
Mike O'Melia continues to make supporting donations ("pay as you go" - thanks, Mike!).
Derek Patton, of Jacksonville, FL (aka "Stacy Hobbs-ville") recently made a Patron Donation, and hopes to come to HGG8.  He's currently checking out all the quality makers..checking his web site, looks like he's also listening to all the right players!  Thanks, Derek!
And Jerry Camp has just made a Supporting Donation.  He's up in Oregon and has a new Sullivan-Elliott-style instrument ("with a few modifications") coming any day now (from Woodley White in Hawaii).
Thanks and welcome to our world, Jerry!

Another generous Patron Donation just in from Dan Pease (and "darling companion") Bettie Swarts.  If anyone recalls, Dan & Bets came to HGG7 with a Dyer in tow. That one just sold (to a German who we expect at HGG8), but Dan has a backup which he'll be bringing as well. Bets plays great fiddle. Both are wonderful folks, though I must make special mention of Dan, who has entertained me in dozens of emails with his inimitable wit and wordplay.  It is I who should be paying him a commission for sheer entertainment value.  A true master wordsmith.

We've just opened a new Merchant Account for the Foundation.  We can now accept VISA or MasterCard directly for Foundation donations for those who prefer that option (and those of us who get airline or other purchase points!).

I apologize for being a bit behind on new Members via first Foundation donations.
Jim Dorman (who introduced himself as "bluesdoggie"...he runs Neon Husky), and also David Moyal (who posted about his Harwood [I have to blog about some new Harwood stuff someday), a fellow from Japan whose name in Japanese paypal characters ( 高井 宏勝 ) I can't read (thanks, and please introduce yourself), a wonderful In Memoriam donation from a long-time anonymous supporter, and just today, David Seipel, a 6-string player coming to the Gathering!  We need more of those - converting is easy, once we snag 'em!
Thank you all for the support.
And thanks to Chris Bucklen for another yearly donation.

Thank you, my sentimental friend!

I'm very pleased to announce the receipt of some substantial donations (which we are always in need of) from the following individuals:

Supporting Donation: Mat Weil, from Switzerland, who just bought the Duane Noble HG shown at HGG8 (it's a nice one!).

Patron Donation: Mark & Barb Miner from Hinsdale, IL (no relation.  Just kidding - he's my brother!); Paul Schatzkin from Tennessee, after returning from his first Gathering; Susie Whybrew, Brad Hoyt's aunt, who did such a terrific volunteer job on Saturday's breakfast with another Hoyt aunt); and Mike Marken from Illinois, carefully shopping for harp guitars...

Benefactor Donation: from the living legend Alan Carruth, who also just attended his first Gathering, sharing his inimitable genious with us (please don't let it be your last!).

Thank you all for your support!

More new donations!
Martin Pleass from the UK, sent a generous Patron donation as he is becoming serious about harp guitars (he has an old Dyer and I believe a new Ralph Bown coming?).  He warns me that a new "English Invasion" is coming...this time harp guitars. In the past, Martin has worked for Pete Townshend in one of his musical theater extravaganzas.

And from Canada, Thomas Nielsen joins us as a Supporter - and 30-year guitar veteran and now harp guitar shopper.

Thanks, gents!

Thank you, Ed!

In the Holiday melee, I completely forgot to thank one Charles Biggar from Centreville, Virginia.  Charles sent by mail a generous Patron donation.  Charles, if you're reading this, thank you!  And tell us a bit about yourself.

It is an honor to be an "official" member of the HG community now. I've been a fan of the instruments and of many players who are members here for a long time. I'd love to hear from any other Gibson U owners out there as I work to transform a guitar that has been a wall-hanger for the last 35 years back into a playable instrument!

Thanks, gents!

Our first Sponsor-level donor ($500) is Nancy Bennett, who should need no introduction to HGG8 attendees or Gregg's Blogg readers.  She wanted to wait until she had her new checks (with new name) printed - and made a point of writing her first one to the Foundation. What a personal and wonderful gesture!
Thank you, Mrs. Bennett!

And another repeat yearly donation from Dennis Mitchell.

Thanks, guys!
