Dear Friends, I am very excited to announce the first edition of an international harp guitar festival in France!
With a group of friends, we have been working since one year on this project and now, it's time to announce it!
It will be on May 4 and 5th of 2013. The location is in the city of Le Mans in France (in a place called "Maison pour tous").
The official players will be: Jason Carter, John Doan, Philippe Fouquet, James Kline, Yaouen. We will have a luthier exposition with Cedric Verglas, Sean Wooley and some famous other ones to be annouced soon.
We hope to have many persons and to have a lot of fun (at least as much as during the Gatherings!).
Many more details and news will come later.
Please feel free to contact me for any question. We wait for you!

This first International Harpe Guitare Festival in France has been a real success. Something I couldn't expect at the very beginning of this project.
The artistic side was of a high level of accomplishment and musicality. We tried to play at our top to leave the best of what we could give behind us (James, Jason, John, Yaouen, Philippe and special sweet thanks to Verity).
The instruments exposed by the luthiers revealed
incredible skill, passion, creativity, professionalism, genius (Benoit, Cedric, Stephen, Sean).
The presentation of Gregg Miner about super trebles was passionating, easy to follow and giving the understanding of the huge and long story of harp guitar and the place we occupy now.
I can say it was a success because, all the persons I have met at the end of the festival, were really moved, passionated, happy, astonished and wanted MORE.
I talk about public, musicians, players, organizations friends. This kind of enthusiasm doesn't lie. I can recognize it. It's a kind of light you can see in the eyes of the people which comes straight out of their heart when they have been touched. That is the success.
I do think that all the friendship which is at the heart of our small movement and all the hope we have in a possible musical and simple humanism development, was strong enough to be felled by our public and friends.
We are proud of what we have done because it was generous, passionated and full of friendship and simplicity.
We do it because we love it!
I adress very special thanks to my Guitare en Sarthe friends and their families. They have done an incredible work in the shadow. Without them, nothing would have happened. Bravo, merci des millions de fois. you have given an ESSENTIAL work. I won't forget (Gwenael, David, Jerome, Jean Pierre, Pierre Louis and their friends and families).
Thank's to the sponsors, they were very essential too!
Future is in front of us and I know that there are strong energies wanting to continue the story.
I wait for it and I feel confident.
I hope I don't forget anyone.
We will have new photos and videos very soon.
Thank you very much all of you.

Philippe Fouquet

Well, I'm back.  Slept 12 hours and will do so again tonight I think!
It was well worth the trip, time and expense, and new friendships were made and internet-only relationships made more personal.
The Guitare en Sarthe group Philippe mentions did a great job, and I, too, really appreciate their including me and accommodating all of us.
I'll hopefully have a new blog series starting shortly. Stay tuned!

The sunday's show was very impressive, full of light on stage.... angels of music was there for sure!
