My new Holloway has had all the tuners replaced (which I fully expected to do when I bought it), had a new nut installed (because the string spacing as shipped was horrible) and the weather was finally nice enough to sit out on the patio tonight...

And I got the biggest compliment for my playing (I'm a hack) I've ever had!
A neighbor was walking her two/three year old in a stroller by the house while I was playing and I heard the kid shout STOP!

He/she (I have no clue) wanted mom to stop to hear me play.
I've been grinnin' fer an hour!
What a nice first day of Spring!

That brought a smile to my face Dan! I play on our back porch a lot during the summer and while I know its easier on the neighbors as the years go on and I get better, I'm still glad we're out in the country so they are usually a couple hundred yards away at best. Glad you got all the tweaks done, let me know how its sounding!

Jay,

It's like a completely different instrument now. Far more playable because of the new setup and way louder because the bridge work lets the ball ends of all strings properly seat themselves. Hard to believe it's the same instrument!

Now...all I have to do is figure out what eyeglass magnification factor will allow me to see both the bridge and fretboard completely in focus!

Eyeglass magnification... lol, I can relate! Although I've been playing a bit lately without glasses at all. Yeah, almost looks like a twelve string to my eyes if I focus but I'm realizing I'm playing more without looking, which is encouraging. The times I look are just those waaay across the neck changes I get myself into sometimes.

If I can ever get past this debt, I'm going to be asking for a list of tweaks! ;-) Before I get a Holloway from Gregg. Really encouraged to hear it all sounds outstanding. Play on Dan!
