I received this tuner from D'Addario yesterday. It will tune my low F in the sub bass all the way through my highest e in the super trebles. Very easy to attach and nearly invisible. Cost is $15 or so. It is chromatic. It's called the NS Micro Soundhole Tuner. I am so happy!

(Seriously. Looks good, much better than a tuner on the headstock. The D'Addario tuners are great value for money. Do you have enough space to turn it on & off easily? Have you tried it in the hollow arm soundhole too?
Love your rosette by the way.
Best wishes from your "forum friend"). Sean

Thanks Sean. That is HG #1. I am working on #5 & 6 now. On/Off switch is very easy to reach. Takes a very light touch. Have not tried it in the hollow arm. Good idea.

Thanks, guys. Randall Sprinkle was showing me a similar thing (different brand) at HGG14 - said it handled his lowest sub pretty well!

It is really quite incredible how small they can get and still keep some form of ergnomics. I guess we just need to persuade TC Electronics to make a 21 string version of their Polytune in a soundhole version.

Gregg, I don't know what Randall had, but I showed you this same tuner at HGG14.  I'm having good luck with it on everything.

I don't remember.  Maybe it was just yours I saw?  Anyway, we have a lotta votes of confidence on it for our instrument!

Hi all. Mine has just arrived. Tucked it in the hollow arm soundhole.
Works great all the way down to a low E. Good find Michael and thanks for sharing.
Best wishes. Sean IMG_20161203_123602.jpg

Sean, they should use your photo for advertising.  Brilliant, showing the low E in vibration while reading clearly on the meter. I'm sold!
