Hi folks,

Just checking out this site, and have learned a lot in the last hour! Looks like I'll spend a lot more time here.

I play an 8-string Viennese-style guitar by Canadian luthier, Scot Tremblay. I use it mainly to play 19th-century guitar music, but here is a video of me playing some of my beloved Scottish lute music:

And here I'm playing a 13-string baroque guitar with a lute body. Make of this what you will. I only had the instrument in my possession for four days, so please forgive the mistakes!

Looking forward to the conversations here.

Welcome! Be careful, multi strings instruments can be quite addictive! Scot Tremblay is a great luthier.

Cheers

Hi Frank. Glad to see you here. I might get to a gathering in Europe some time. I hope so.

Hi Rob,

I wish I could make to this year's festival in France (the 1st harp guitar festival in Europe).  The Harp Guitar Gathering (trademarked name) probably won't get any closer to you than when we're in Connecticut (as we will be this year).  We do usually get at least a couple people from Europe.

Anyhow, I hope to run into you somewhere down the road.

Take care!

Rob,

Wonderful...thanks for those videos.  Beautiful instruments, music and playing!  I especially like the third piece on the Viennese-style guitar, the very Scottish sounding one....
And the bass strings on the arch-lute...there is something really wonderful about a very long, low-pitched gut (or nylon) bass string...I love it!

I'm glad you spoke some in the arch-lute video....I enjoy hearing the sound of peoples voices...it gives one another clue into who a person is- something rather lacking in an online forum like this!

Thanks again, and welcome to the fold!

Fred Carlson
