No problem, Scott.  Now I just have to convince Mike to switch to our better HGM Pickup the World systems.....(flagrant plug)

Hee Hee.. I had him use the K&K because I have in the Beneteau Fan-Fret I'm having made, and wanted to share the same preamp between the two. (Cheapskate that I am!)

Hey Scott,

After you get your Dyer style HG, perhaps you'll have dreams of harp guitars with more than just 12 strings.

Oh Brady,
I think I'll have my "hands full" with just the 6 Guitar and 6 sub-bass strings for a very long time.

Well,
On Thursday I received my harp from Mike Brittain. He's been a pleasure to work with. I, unfortunately need to take a moment to implore that anyone shipping a harp read Gregg's great info and be sure to TAKE THE TENSION OFF OF THE STRINGS.

The box arrived with not a scratch on it.

Nice crack where the sub-bass peghead joins the harp extension.

Mostly superficial, with Mike's advice, I was able to get it secured and it's been holding the tension with out widening for about 5 hours now.. I am guardedly optimistic.

For reference, the harp that I had originally had commissioned from Eddy Villa arrived with this damage:

Well with all the shipping, the guitar neck was all out of whack as well. Action was way high, again, made some adjustments. It's playing great, little buzzing on open 4 and 2 right now, but definitely livable. Not going to ship again if I can help it. Will take my time with it and if I can't get it to perfection, I'll take it to someone locally. (Always open to suggestions for a good tech or luthier on Long Island, NY).

I'm a very happy camper, and am very excited to travel down this path of harp guitars, right now, I'm relegated to rank beginner status again, but I'm digging it anyway!  Plus it looks great with the other guitars in my stable

Catching up on my books...these 6 gentlemen have all recently done a year's Membership donation: Ioannis Papadopoulos, Drew Baldwin, Mario Lesinski, Rick Sara, Donald Cook and Matt Munisteri (Donald, if you're out there, please note that your email account is dead - please send me a note).
Thanks all!
At this point, I am retiring Harpguitars.net "Subscriptions" - although in practice, I expect continuing donations from my "constituents."
We are in the process (this weekend) of re-setting the books and way we accept donations - all of which will now be "charitable donations" to The Harp Guitar Foundation.  The Foundation itself technically will have no "members."  However, donors are automatically eligible for Harpguitars.net Membership (Forum use, Members Section password).
Announcement soon!
