Reply with quote | #1 | I have begun to permanently stock HGM with strings, and the page is now up: Sub-bass Strings I had to abandon the Newtone strings due to a corrosion problem, and I am exploring several options for a new custom string vendor. Meanwhile, most gauges are well represented by John Pearse and D’Addario.
I have a few classical sub-basses listed as well, with a full range coming in the future.
Needless to say, I would appreciate your business! __________________ Gregg Miner, editor, Harpguitars.net |

Reply with quote | #8 | Tone- you'll have to get those Fender PBs from MF for now. I'm working on getting some for HGM, so next time, thanks! Ultimately, I hope to do a full compliment of custom PBs, but am looking for the right company. __________________ Gregg Miner, editor, Harpguitars.net |

Reply with quote | #10 | I finally got around to putting together a standard Gibson Style U phosphor bronze set - in both John Pearse and D'Addario. Plus all the individual gauges available as well (now .034" - .080", inclusive). In stock now! Thanks to Ben for suggesting and Mike Doolin for double-checking my calculations.
Also, the main string page now splits off into Steel or Nylon.

Reply with quote | #11 | I added a "Standard" Dyer sub-bass set. JP brand only, and the disclaimer says:
* This set is lighter than I would prefer; limited by currently available gauges Currently this is the best option I believe, prompted by a new request from Don Alder (and many previous others)

Reply with quote | #12 | For those tuning down to E or D, or builders creating extra outlandish instruments, I've started stocking D'Addario PB acoustic bass singles again (buying sets, and breaking up). These are extra long scale, and have large ball end. Gauges .045, .065, .080, .100 & .130 http://www.harpguitarmusic.com/strings-steel.htm#singles P.S. I can't take much string stock to HGG7 - if you're thinking of picking anything up, it's always best to let me know in advance. __________________ Gregg Miner, editor, Harpguitars.net |
